In May 2012 all accounts were enhanced with an inexpensive feature for identity theft insurance and monitoring. This feature costs all TCCU account holders $2 a month, but will cover your entire household and any account you may have at any other financial institution or any credit account you may have elsewhere. If you were to become a victim of identity theft, you would simply need to call the identity theft hotline. You will have a dedicated case agent through the entire process and may receive up to $10,000 in reimbursement for any costs incurred due to the theft of your identity. In addition to the insurance, if you sign up online (also included in the $2/mo charge), you can track your credit reports monthly, any changes to your credit, credit/debit cards that are unusual, and store all card data safely and securely. If you find that this coverage is not what you need, notify TCCU in writing to opt-out. If you choose to opt-out, you or other members in your household will not receive any of the insurance or monitoring services.
